My name is Gaby Henderson and I am fashion designer with my BA from Kent State University with a minor in marketing.  I am an innovative fashion designer with focus on quality, comfort, and trend. I have contributed powerful designs and direction to one of the fastest growing retailers in America, Aerie. I started my career in intimate apparel, which is one of the most complex and niche forms of fashion.  I thrive in fast paced environments, am detail oriented, and can quickly adapt to new and unique settings. With my experience in the industry, I have learned to push myself and my designs to be elevated, and always strive to make the product superior in every aspect.

I always knew that I wanted to be a fashion designer. When I was 8 years old, I told my mother that I wanted to learn to sew and she connected me with her friend, who taught me to use a sewing machine. We started with one pillow, which quickly turned into dozens.  From there, I started sewing outfits for my barbie dolls.  I stubbornly believed that my dolls wardrobes weren't "high end" enough, and I took matters into my own hand.  Creating clothes became my favorite pastime. I was obsessed.  My mom would buy me discounted scraps of fabrics from Joanne's, and I spent hours draping and shaping it into my little creations.   When I return to my childhood home and work on a project, my mother always makes a point to tell me that she feels at peace when she hears the hum of the sewing machine.
